Insect Shield

Insect Shield technology is the result of years of research and field studies. The active ingredient, permethrin, is a synthetic version of a natural insect repellent found in certain species of chrysanthemums.

It is incorporated into the fabric of our Maul Sport clothing using a special, patented process and permanently bonded to the fabric—Insect Shield is thus in the clothing, not on the skin. Our Insect Shield products are therefore safe even for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

The active ingredient used was approved many years ago by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is recommended by various institutions, such as the WHO, for use in clothing designed to protect against diseases such as malaria. Insect Shield offers effective protection against: mosquitoes, ticks, mites, flies, and fleas. Because it is woven into the fabric, the insect protection is invisible, odorless, and safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
